Covid-19 Statement

  • Please ensure you follow all government guidance on travel. This can be found here.
  • Before you leave home, make sure all your party is fit to travel.
  • If a guest becomes unwell during their stay, you must inform us immediately, and make arrangements to travel home.
  • If a guest is too ill to travel home, they will be expected to pay all the rental for the additional time spent at Hawthorn Cottage.
  • Please inform us if anyone tests positive for Covid-19 during their stay or up to 14 days after they have returned home.We cannot offer refunds if guests cannot complete their stay. Early departure does not warrant a refund of any amount. We therefore urge guests to take out adequate travel insurance.
  • A full refund or date transfer will only be offered if Hawthorn Cottage is forced to close by the government, and your holiday dates fall in the period that we are required to close. In the event of a local lockdown in your area, we will offer alternative dates to stay.
  • Once we are open, no refunds will be given for disinclination to travel, symptoms of Coronavirus or personal shielding.
  • Essential items to bring with you on holiday:
  • Face masks - these are especially useful if you are visiting any tourist attractions that may be popular and the volume of people high.
  • Disposable gloves – handy for topping up the car with fuel. It is recommended to keep your tank full in case you develop symptoms and have to travel home.
  • Hand sanitiser – for when you are out and unable to wash your hands
  • It is a good idea to maybe arrange a home delivery from the local supermarket to avoid unnecessary contact in the shops.
  • Please be aware that some attractions may have to be pre booked to control numbers.
